Expedition Director (Operations Lead)

Adam has been working with young people outdoors since 2008. He is a trained Mountain Leader and has led trek teams of young people in the UK, Costa Rica, Borneo and Nepal.

He became Expedition Leader for a charity in Borneo, managing up to seven remote projects and 100 volunteers simultaneously. His operational expertise includes health and safety protocols, logistical and financial management.

Expedition Director (Wellbeing/Safeguarding Lead)

Laura is an experienced programme manager and trainer with a passion for youth development and social justice. She worked as a youth worker and frontline practitioner in children’s social care before designing a portfolio of initiatives to improve outcomes for young people, most recently working with the Children’s Society and British Transport Police to improve responses to Child Exploitation.

Laura’s passion for youth development has taken her on expeditions to Belarus, Patagonia and Borneo where she worked as an operations manager leading expeditions.

Volunteer Expedition Leader / Photographer

Dan is an experienced expedition leader and professional photographer. He has led groups of young people trekking on expeditions in Nepal and Borneo, and in 2019 spent a year trekking the Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Canada.

Dan has over 10 years experience professionally supporting young people with a range of disabilities and vulnerabilities, including those with special educational needs, autism, downs syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Volunteer Expedition Leader / Medical Advisor

Lou is a qualified Nurse Specialist, with many years working in paediatric oncology and working with young people. Louise has worked as an international expedition medic looking after the medical needs and welfare of young people and as an operations manager running large scale youth development expeditions.

Louise holds a Tropical Nursing diploma, Haemato-oncology BSc and will qualify as a Nurse Practitioner in 2023.

Volunteer Expedition Leader

Ali has led expeditions for young people in the UK, Borneo, India, Tanzania and Vietnam.

He is a qualified Mountain Leader and experienced trainer who loves introducing people to outdoor sports and activities.

Pongo spent much of his life as an expedition cat in Borneo, assessing groups of volunteers when they arrived at fieldbase. He accompanied Laura and Adam when they returned to the UK and now spends his retirement eating as much chicken as he likes.

The newest member of the team. Obi is undergoing an intensive training programme and is hoping to join the team out on their treks soon. Always happy and keen for a W.A.L.K, he keeps morale high on those long trek days.
