 FAQs

  • The Hunt is an outdoor escape and evade scavenger hunt game in Stanmer Park, Brighton.

Assemble a team and attempt to complete a series of missions whilst evading capture from a team of specialist Hunters who are trying to track you down.

The game is about teamwork and strategy. You will need to plot your route through the park estate using a provided map, whilst remaining vigilant as the Hunters will disguise themselves as members of the public.

You will be met at the meeting point by the Pendragon Project team who will brief you on your mission and provide your game equipment. They will be on-site throughout the activity.

  • The game is about teamwork and strategy, not fitness or speed. We encourage all teams to play it at their own pace.

Participants must be comfortable walking for 2 hours.

The game is player on established paths and trails. The terrain can be uneven at times and there are hills with a gentle gradient.

There is no obligation to run away from the Hunters, unless you wish to!

The Hunt is an accessible activity. We can facilitate a Mission Command role for participants who have limited mobility.

  • Lots of families with children have taken part in The Hunt, but we do have supervision guidelines.

For young adults aged 14-17, we permit them to play in a team of their own as long as a supervising adult is present on-site (either with the team or waiting at the meeting point).

For children aged 10-13, they can enjoy The Hunt as part of a team with at least one adult.

We generally recommend that The Hunt is not suitable for under-10s as it involves upto 2 hours of walking. However, if a family is confident that this would not be a problem for their child then we’re happy for them to be involved.

Parents have carried infants whilst playing, but this is entirely at the discretion of the parent.

We ask that you check the weather forecast and wear appropriate clothing. We always advise to pack wet weather gear!

Wear sensible footwear that you will be comfortable walking for 2 hours in.

Bring water and snacks for energy.

  • The Hunt is just as much fun in the rain!

The activity is suitable for winter unless the Pendragon team assess the conditions to be unsuitable during their pre-activity site assessment (e.g. deep snow, thunderstorms). In this event, the Pendragon Project would cancel the activity.

  • We run two Hunts each day, you can choose between a morning and afternoon slot.

From November-February, the start times are 09:00am and 01:00pm.

From March-October, the start times are 10:00am and 2:00pm.

Start times can be tweaked so long as they don’t impact other bookings.

The activity lasts for 2.5 hours.

  • Depending on your group size, we will advise on how best to split your group.

We recommend that teams are no larger than 12 players in each, for example if you are a party of 16 we would recommend splitting into 2 teams.

For a large group (e.g. 50-60 players) you will divide into teams of 10-12 players.

If there are multiple teams, all will be evading the Hunters but will be in competition with each other to complete the mission.

Have a think about it, you don’t need to decide anything in advance.

  • There are several local options for food and refreshments to toast a successful Hunt!

Please add this request to your booking enquiry and we’ll provide you with more info about food and drink options.
